School trouble

Tuesday night it was a terrible end of day for me. When I picked up my son at daycare he told me that a school helper from school had slapped him on his face. I was shocked, no only it is something forbidden at school but he is a boy that never gives a problem and I was quite surprised with the situation.

This school helper is at school for only a few days, she’s not used to kids (she’s a person grabbed from unemployment – government does that to keep people busy), four kids including mine were playing or better annoying her, one of the boys hit her several times with a ball and although my son was not doing anything at the time she just lifted her hand and slapped the first kid near her…it was my son.

For 6 years now we never hit our son on his face and now, someone strange to us, did it!! I was really chocked. A report was made, the school helper apologized to my son and my son apologized for any misbehave, the teacher and an effective resident school helper had a serious conversation with the lady and she was really warned that she can not have this type of behavior.

I talked to the teacher and I decided no to go ahead with a complaint to the school president, I’ll give her the benefit of doubt and expect that she changes her behaviour, if not, I’ll be the first to complain about her.

I thought about going to speak with the lady personally but I let this type of process run as usual meaning we have a conversation with the teacher and she manages all the follow up.

It was really difficult for me to know that my son was slapped by a person when we, parents, for years didn’t do it.
