Sexuality: My 10 years old is growing up

My 10 years old is growing. Instead of a quiet, tidy and well behaved boy, I guess I have a boy like almost everyone else know: active, untidy, lazy and protesting boy. He is also very sweet and friendly.

He was never a boy that asked many questions about “difficult” subjects like sexuality, but lately the questions started popping up in a very natural way. A few weeks ago we were driving away and he asked: Mom, all woman have a menstruation? I said yes, and it was it. Too easy, don’t you think?

I must confess that I’m a little scared about questions like: What are condoms used for? or How do couples make love? He never asked this type of questions so I am waiting for that they although I am not prepared to answer. I guess I will know what to answer on the spot of the question.

Should I start the conversation about sexuality or should I just let it flow as he gets curious about it?
