I was recently offered the opportunity to try the BigUniverse.com website and I want to share with you my experience and offer a lucky winner the opportunity to try it too.

Big Universe is about Read, Create and Share Children’s Books Online.

Site Overview:
BigUniverse.com is an award-winning education website for grades K-8. This engaging web community uses beautiful picture books to instill the love of reading, writing and learning, while providing an anywhere-anytime, standards-based, education resource that connects teachers, students and parents.
Our products and features include:

First we create our profile and we can choose an avatar for our image. Avatars are interesting, funny and can express what we are. Then we can go to the Read tab where we have available 1296 (until today) children’s books to read and learn from. The books have amazing illustrations, they are attractive and they tell interesting stories that children will love. The navigation method is very easy to use and the kids have the ability to take as long as they want to read the book. Some books have related quizzes available so that children can test if they captured all the information they read in the book.

Books can be added to the personal bookshelf to be find easily later on. Books can be shared with friends that you and your children add to their profile, so that your friends are updated with what you are reading. You can also recommend a book to a friend so he can enjoy a book you liked.

A great feature is to create books online. We have thousands of images to choose from, different subjects, backgrounds, themes so that we can write the book we have been dreaming for. Imagine you have a girl who loves princess stories, you can create a story at her image and she will get the book she wanted, created especially for her. If she wants she can then share the book with her friends to show her creation.

This is a great experience for children and adults (parents, teachers) and I would like to share with you how wonderful this website is.
