We have a nice sized pool in our back yard and one neighbor in particular likes to bring her daughter over to swim (when we invite her) and then find excuses to leave her at our house while she goes back home to do her thing. I have to be in the pool area at all times because our kids are 3 & 5 but it's still challenging to watch more than my own two in the pool. I find myself not inviting this neighbor over as often as I would if she would just stick around and watch over her daughter while she's swimming! I understand what you’re saying. When I was working my kids stayed in a daycare where they had a lot of activities to do while I was at work, but some of my neighbors let the kids stay at home alone. Also some neighbors have strict rules and they don't let the kids play inside their houses. I don't mind the kids play with toys inside my house, of course I have a little more work but...they have to play. Though your own kids are happy and it's good for them to socialize, it can be a strain to take care of all of them. I try to make sure that play dates are scheduled equally at our house and the other children's homes. I'm lucky that the other parents feel the same way that I do!
