I’m Stuck with my Internet Goals

I’ve been quite busy thinking and trying to figure out how the internet guru’s make money online. I spend a lot of time reading blueprints, reports, watching videos and guess what: I end up always with the same information and no blog posts written.

There are a a few blogs I always ready, some Facebook friends and pages I consider a “must follow”; I always attend the Sue and Steve Monday webinar (they Rock!!!), which is live at a decent time for me; I’m following the Unstrapp’d Reality Show videos and I always learn something new. It’s great.

I’m still looking for what I have to choose to get a “online life”. It seems so easy when we hear other people talking but them getting to the practice part it’s a little bit difficult. Maybe it’s just me. Being jobless gives me plenty of time to figure out and develop “something” but I feel I’m stuck.

I’m Still Alive and Well

I know I’ve been away from this blog and I’m really sad about it. I was supposed to write here my daily life, my kids, parenting issues and lately things seems so boring although a lot of stuff has been going on. I don’t want to whine anymore about my life so I just decided to shut up and not write.

Bad stuff:

jobless
no income
latest bosses didn’t pay what they own me
my son don’t like to study and grades are not what they should be

Good Stuff:

enjoying being a full time mom
enjoying being online all day and write and network with other bloggers
created a blog on my mother language
opened a Facebook account for my real friends and family

I will keep this blog updated from now on, I promise.

Facebook, HootSuite, Twitter, LinkedIn, Digg: I hate you

Well, I definitely love them but they are keeping my attention away from blogging.

Today it was a very difficult day. Husband had to go to ER due to a gout crises. He was medicated but forgo to take him again to tell that he is allergic to Aspirin, so 1 hour after taking the meds he started an allergic reaction and I had to ER. He had to me medicated against the allergy and the doctor gave him a muscle relaxant. Well, I can say he is better now and he has been sleeping since 3pm and it is 00.12am now.

So, the time I spent on the computer was to check my inbox, check facebook alerts, check twitter and NO blogging. Well, I wrote this post.

I have to catch up with blogging tomorrow, let’s see if nothing else happens.

Time Management needed

I’m full time at home, jobless and now what?

I confess that I’m living the dream of my life, no full time job, I’m doing the house chores, taking and picking up my kids at school, be with them more time. This also means I have no income, at least for now so I should be worried but, I am not worry, I’m happy, I’m living my dream. Full Time Mom and Housewife.

But I want to work, I like to work but…doing the work I like, not an imposed one just to have a income at the end of the month. I want to enjoy my job. I like to be a blogger, I like to write and I want to continue doing that. If I can earn some money on that journey the better.

This last few days I’ve been increasing my online presence. I started using Facebook more (amazing), I now have fan pages for my blogs (Soleflor Mom and Have a Better Life) , I joined Linked In, I joined The Product Review Place, I’m using Hootsuite and I guess a few more, I’m losing track of everything wish leads me to a new problem: Time Management.

Having a different life style made me lose track of everything. What comes first:

Check my inbox
Do the laundry
Check Hootsuite
Make the beds
Check you Fan me or want to add me as a friend
Write posts
Comment on blogs
Read posts I like
???????

I’m confused and I really need to organize myself. I guess Time Management is a priority right now.

How do you keep track of your tasks, appointments, shopping, etc.? I don’t have a iphone or other advanced gadget to introduce that information. So, do you put it on paper, on Google Calendar, Post-its ??

What happened in the past few days:

- Following my last post, resignation letter sent and received by boss. I’m officially unemployed.

- I got addicted to Facebook and stopped spending so much time on twitter

- I added credit to my Skype account so that I can make land line calls (cell phones ones are too expensive)

- Signed up to attend the Social Media Attractionaires live event today at 5pm Pacific/8pm Eastern.

- Opened an account in Linked In

- Added a few more interesting people on Twitter and Facebook

- I’m following more blogs

- I’m commenting more now

Still to do:

- Finish the blog makeover

- Launch two Giveaways

- Learn more blogging skills

- Write, write, write and write posts

etc etc etc.

Change Theme

After several tests and theme changes offline I finally had the courage to change the theme. Over the next days I’m going to “tune” the appearance, sidebars, etc. so if you arrive here and see no sidebars or an error, please come back later. I’ll be playing with html and css code in the next few days and…I know Zero about coding. My biggest problem right now is to find a away to show paragraphs in the main page without using the
tags all the time (individual posts are just fine).

Be patience please.

I got a New Domain: soleflormom.com

Those regular readers probably notices something different when arriving here.

Last Friday I bought a new domain and I redirected the mydailylifeasamom.com to soleflormom.com.

The blog is the same, all the posts and comments are here, the feed has changed but if it is working correctly it is redirecting readers to the new domain. Unfortunately I lost my backlinks and therefore I have to wait 3 months to submit it to paying blog.

The redirect process although simple after we do it, it seems complicated at first. I asked Owen for some help and everything ended up well.

I changed my twitter ID to soleflormom but those who follow me don’t need to do any changes because they keep following me.

I believe all my links are working but if any of you notice something weird please let me know.

I want to change to a new theme but I want a personalized one, as I’m low in cash, I intend to do it myself so I have to learn a little bit of coding so let’s see if it will be running as soon as possible.

This past few days I wrote a bunch of posts about diet pills, weight loss, diet supplement reviews, and similar subjects. Although this is a diary, a parenting blog, mom blog, I also believe that some of my readers can take advantage of those links because a lot of mom blogger are trying to lose weight.

This won’t be a regular subject on my blog, but it doesn’t mean that from time to time, if I get a link to a good and informative site regarding weight loss that I won’t post it here. We have to keep an open mind and getting off topic sometimes it’s good for the new readers that drop by.

Next week I expect this blog to have a new look, regular subjects and much more. Keep stopping by.

Time to live it fully

Things have been running smoother lately in my house. I am more relaxed with the working place, I have been sleeping more hours, the back pain is not too bad, less stress with the kids, I am having a more relaxed life.

I’ve finished the 6 modules of Crowd Mountain (from Michelle MacPhearson) and although I have a few videos I have to go through again, I believe I already have almost all the tools to make a blog rank in the Top five of Google. I haven’t dedicated the time I want to build a better blog but I’m organizing my blogging space so that I can do it.

Being more relaxed makes it easier for me to organize my time. Before I would only sleep 4-5 hours and spend the whole day with headaches and bad mood. Now that I’m sleeping more I can focus and split the time between work and pleasure.

Sleep is really a essencial need our body has, I can see that now. I’ve tried several times to reduce the sleeping time with no good results. Well, I have to live with that…
